Mrs. Sharmaine A. “Sherry” Bican, 75, of Galesburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Sherry was born on September 1, 1950, in Galesburg, the daughter of James “Bud” and Kathryn L. (Cadwell) Holloway. She graduated from Glenbard East High School in Lombard, Illinois in 1968.

Sherry married the love of her life George Bican on December 1, 1967, in Hannibal, Missouri and they quickly began growing their family, adding three children, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, George; her children, Kim (Larry) Hallstrom of Dunlap, Illinois and Nichol (Matt) Pogue and David Bican both of Galesburg; her brother, Mike (Mareen) Holloway of Galesburg and her sister, Jody (David) Reynolds of Aurora, Colorado; five grandchildren, Tyler (Maria) Hallstrom, Kayla (Logan) Archdale, Lilly (Sam) Bjorkman, Kimmie (Luke) Jackson and Jacob (Bri) Hallstrom and four great grandchildren, Lincoln Bjorkman, Brooks, Bjorkman, and soon to come Baby Jackson and Baby Hallstrom.

Sherry and George have owned and operated Royal Cleaning Services for over 49 years. Sherry was still very active with the daily operation of their business. She had love for shopping and most always accompanied George on their boat. You hardly ever saw one without the other. Sherry’s biggest joy was being a mother and later becoming a Gigi. She loved attending her grandchildren’s events or simply catching up with them in conversation.

She was a member of the Four-Square Gospel Church and most recently was attending the First Church of the Nazarene.

Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm Monday, December 15, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the chapel. She will be laid to rest next to her mother at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with a private family burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene. Online condolences may be offered at www.h-p-w.com
