The 28th annual Gardener’s Day is just around the corner. Wendy Ferguson with the University of Illinois Extension shares that this year’s event will be held March 28 at the Spoon River Outreach Center in Macomb and will include a keynote speaker, lunch, and breakout sessions.
“Some of the classes that we’re going to be having are growing your own cut flowers, tree selection for diversity, and our very popular nature tile program — which is an actual hands-on pottery-making experience with natural materials. That particular session does cost $10 more, and that’s for the firing of the tile that you will get after. I think it’s usually a week or two after Gardener’s Day,” shares Ferguson. “But also, if you are a bird watcher, there’s landscaping for birds.”
The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 28. For more information or to sign up, visit the Extension website.
