Timothy Scott Tomlinson, age 63, of Lomax, Illinois, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026 at his home.  He was born February 26, 1963 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Robert S. and Margaret K. Hoover Tomlinson.

Tim served his country in the United States Navy from 1983 to 1989, when he was honorably discharged.  He was employed at National Wheel-O-Vator Company of Roanoke, Illinois for several years, and was currently employed at Shearer’s Foods of West Burlington, Iowa.   He was a member of the AMVETS Post #100 of Mackinaw, Illinois.

Tim was a gentle soul who touched everyone that was fortunate enough to know him. His kindness was quiet but constant, and it left a lasting mark on every life he touched.  He found peace and joy in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, where he felt most at home.  He served his country in the Navy, carrying that same steady strength into the way he lived his life.  He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved.

Survivors include his father, Robert S. Tomlinson Sr of Lowpoint, IL, six siblings, Robert S. Tomlinson Jr of Peoria, IL, Tracy L. Tomlinson, Reta D. Kacir, and Roger A. (Tiffany) Tomlinson, all of Lowpoint, IL, Jodie L. (Marty) Tisdale of Manito, IL, and Kimberly D. Nelson of Pekin, IL.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Tomlinson, step-mother, Kathy Tomlinson, step-father Donald Tomlinson, and one nephew, Ryan Nelson.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Celebration Of Life will be announced  at a later date.  Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is assisting the family.  A memorial fund has been established for the Washburn American Legion Post 661.  Memorials may be sent to Banks & Beals Funeral Home, PO Box 299, Stronghurst, IL 61480.  Please visit Timothy’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence.
