Betti A. Lemmer, 76, of Galesburg, died at 1:38 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, in the emergency room of OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

She was born April 15, 1950, in Galesburg, the daughter of William E. and Virginia M. (Natalie) Lemmer Sr.

She is survived by her companion of many years, Rick Smith; a sister, Joyce Lemmer of Galesburg; a brother, Lance Lemmer of New Orleans; two great granddaughters; and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tammi; a granddaughter; and a brother, Bill.

Betti was raised and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1968. She went on to attend and earn her nursing degree from Carl Sandburg College. Betti worked as an LPN for 20 years at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. After retirement from nursing, she drove a school bus for several years for First Student. She was a member of Grace Anglican Church.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.h-p-w.com.
