Western Illinois Regional Council (WIRC) is offering emergency disaster assistance for Warren County residents impacted by the June 17th tornado.

Community Services and Public Relations Director Jamie Roth says applications have already started coming in.

“We’ve already received 35 applications and counting. We expect that, of course, to grow, and this is a program that we’re very excited to be able to offer to the residents. We’ve seen the photos on social media. We know that this is causing a lot of traumatic stress and worry for people in Warren County who’ve been affected by that storm. We are able to use our funding to help with things like repairing roofs. One person had plumbing issues, one person is still without power. Some people had their utilities ripped away from their home because the winds were so severe.”

Roth says residents can apply online at wirpc.org/disaster, call 309-837-2997 and ask for Jamie or Nikki, or stop by the Jamieson Center during open hours for help with the application.
