A-Town Tornado Football Hoping to Use Experience and All-Conference Returners for a Successful 2026

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado football squad is coming off a (3-6) season in 2025. Four of the nine games were decided by five points or less. A-Town was (1-3) in those tight contests. There is reason for optimism this fall for that ratio to turn around. A-Town will bring back several All-LincolnLand Conference returners in skill position second teamer, Tre Kenon, Carson Stenger and Ryker Darst, combined with All-Conference offensive lineman Cole Sheckler. Quarterback Jamil Johnson, who threw for around 1400 yards, is back along with a healthy Owen Timmons, could mean a lot more points on the board for the Tornadoes this season.

A-Town head coach Rick Quinn has been the only head coach the consolidation has known. He’s hoping his team has learned from last year and is excited what they can do on the offensive side of the ball.

The Tornadoes open up at home on Friday against West Hancock. West Hancock is coming off a (6-4) season that ended in a first round playoff loss.
