Rhonda L. Clay, 69, of Galesburg, died at 10:19 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020, in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born May 15, 1950, in Galesburg, the daughter of Ronald and Norma (Kent) Kilby. She married Richard E. “Rick” Clay on March 1, 1969, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2018.
She is survived by a daughter, Catharine (Greg) Jordan of Atoka, Tennessee; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; six siblings, Diann Gravino of Galesburg, Kathy (Fred) Kimble of Wisconsin, Miki Buncher of Galesburg, Russ Kilby of California, Ron Kilby of Galesburg, and Karen (A.J.) Salsman of Galesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, R. Michael Clay; and a daughter, Erin Lynn Clay Marfell.
Rhonda was raised and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School. She was of Christian faith. She loved playing Bingo and cards, especially Pitch, and crocheting. Rhonda loved being surrounded by people and visiting with them.
Visitation will be 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. Cremation will be accorded following the service with private family burial in Linwood Cemetery.
