Mary Eichhorn, 97, of Galesburg, died at 11:20 p.m. January 22, 2021 at home with family.

She was born August 12, 1923, in Peoria, the daughter of Edward and Rena (Havens) Catcott.  She married Robert G. Eichhorn on December 13, 1941, in Palmyra, Missouri.  He preceded her in death March 30, 2017 after more than 75 years of marriage.

She is survived by three children, Thomas L. (Sara) Eichhorn of Newport Beach and Rancho Mirage, California, Priscilla (Robert) Lindstrom of Galesburg, and Barbara (Mel) Koffman of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren, Robert (Molly) Eichhorn of California, Doug (Ashley) Lindstrom of Bettendorf, Iowa, Mary (Ryan) Rankin of Pensacola, Florida, Kristin (Chad) Yeager of Denver, Colorado, Brett (Kasey) Lohman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Breanna Lohman of Toronto, Canada; and seven great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Charles Eichhorn, Drake Lindstrom, Dax and Noa Rankin, and Jackson and Anna Yeager.  She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and grands.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Scott Matthew Lindstrom; two brothers; and five sisters.

Mary and Bob owned and operated Eichhorn Jewelers in Galesburg from 1956 until 2017.  Mary retired at 92, having enjoyed her role as the “Jewel of Main Street”, where she loved her customers as her dearest friends.

Mary was raised and educated in Peoria, where she graduated from Peoria High School.  She was a member of the First Christian Church, Soangetaha Country Club, L.T.Stone PTA, where she served as President, and the Amondata Club.  Mary and Bob enjoyed many years at their winter retreat in Marco Island, Florida, where they had many friendships.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited occupancy.  Private family funeral services will be held with Pastor Katie Gallagher officiating.  Those wishing to attend the funeral “virtually” may watch the live broadcast at 11 a.m. Wednesday on the funeral home’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Hinchliff-Pearson-West-Funeral-Directors-and-Cremation-Services-160333664037824.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Beacon of Hope Hospice or Galesburg Community Foundation.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
