Seven Iowa Collegiate Athletes Charged With Illegal Gambling

Iowa is being rocked by allegations of illegal gambling involving athletes from its two top schools. Hunter Dekkers isn’t the only college athlete in Iowa being charged with illegal gambling. After the Iowa State quarterback had a criminal complaint lodged against him on Tuesday, six other athletes in the state were charged Wednesday. Former Hawkeyes basketball player Ahron Ulis allegedly placed over 18-hundred bets totaling close to 35-thousand dollars on his brother’s FanDuel account between February 2021 and December of 2022. He was under the legal gambling age of 21 at the time, and he placed at least one bet on a Hawkeyes game. Iowa baseball player Gehrig Christensen and football player Aaron Blom were also caught in the investigation, as well as Iowa State wrestler Paniro Johnson and as well as Iowa State wrestler Paniro Johnson and football players Dodge Sauser and Eyioma Uwazurike.
