Sally McVey, 70, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Allure of Knox County in Galesburg, IL.

She was born on March 8, 1955, in Monmouth, the daughter of Richard F. and Betty M. (Turner) McVey. Sally was raised in Monmouth and attended Warren Achievement School. 

Since 1974, Sally was involved with Warren Achievement and recently earned a 50-year pin at Achievement Industries. She loved participating in Special Olympics and was known for wearing a medal everywhere she went. She earned 75 medals in several events including the softball throw and standing long jump. Sally was a 55-year member of Faith United Presbyterian Church and enjoyed teaching Sunday School.

Surviving Sally is her uncle, Bob (Jo) McVey; cousins, Steve (Lynn) McVey, Mark (Julie) McVey, Cinda (Bruce) Burgland, and Dana Papineau, all of Monmouth.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard T. McVey; twin sister, Sue McVey Pitz; grandparents, Richard and Margaret McVey and Charles and Margaret Turner.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.  Memorial can be made to the Faith United Presbyterian Church or the Warren County YMCA (Warren County Falcons).
