Mrs. Ada Joy Trone, 79, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 5:48 a.m. Sunday September 21, 2025, at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois.

Ada was born on August 4, 1946, in Galesburg, the daughter of Harry E. and Audrey (Routt) Forbes.  Ada married Carl Joe Trone on April 1, 1966. 

Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Joe Trone of Galesburg, a daughter Brenda (and Steve) Peterson of Galesburg, three grandchildren, Savannah Peterson, Sean Peterson, and Erik Peterson, and 2 sisters, Sandy (and Don) Gillenwater of Galesburg and Betty Higbee of Florida.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Anna Trone on June 19, 1984. 

Ada Graduated from Galesburg High School in 1964.  She continued her education and received her Registered Nurse degree.  She worked as a nurse at the Galesburg Research Hospital and later at St Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg.

As Ada requested, cremation will be accorded.  A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Memorials in Ada’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com
