The Monmouth-Roseville Titans had a tough night on the road Friday, falling 40-0 to Kewanee in a matchup with the Mississippi Division title on the line.
Monmouth-Roseville struggled to get anything going offensively against a strong Kewanee defense and was never able to find much rhythm throughout the night. The Titans were held off the scoreboard and had a tough time sustaining drives against the Boilermakers.
Landon Montroy led the way on the ground for Monmouth-Roseville, carrying the ball 22 times for 97 yards.
The loss drops the Titans to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in Mississippi Division play. After winning the division title the last two years, Monmouth-Roseville will now turn their attention to the final week of the regular season. A win over Orion would put the Titans in a good spot to host a first-round playoff game.
The Titans will return home next Friday for Homecoming against the Orion Chargers at Coach Dobry Field.
