Macomb Pumpkin Smash

On Friday, November 8, from 10 AM to 1 PM, head to Veterans Park in Macomb, IL, for a fun-filled event that benefits the planet. Instead of tossing old pumpkins in the trash, please give them a second life through composting at Illinois Extension’s fall community composting event.

Here’s how to take part:

• Collect pumpkins from home, school, or work
•  Remove candles, paint, ribbons, and other non-organic materials
•  Smash them using tools provided—or toss them in the compost bin
•  All pumpkins will be transported to a composting facility
