Summer means busy times for the Strom Center in Monmouth. First, the Center will host another installment of their Triad Meetings with Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer as their featured speaker on Thursday, June 14. He will discuss scams and ways to combat them. This Friday, the Center will host a Gentlemen’s Day for men 60 years and older from 9 to 11 a.m. On Tuesday, June 19 at 1 p.m., the Center will present an Alzheimer’s Program. Executive Director Carol McCrery explains:
“You think you know a lot, but there’s a lot of little dimensions to this condition that people need to recognize. Our speaker is extremely knowledgeable and answers a lot of the questions. We’re really excited to have her,” McCrery said.
The program is titled Alzheimer’s: Know the 10 Early Signs: Early Detection Matters. The presentation aims to separate myth from reality and address commonly held fears about Alzheimer’s in America.
In July, the Strom Center’s thrift store will hold a Christmas in July sale on all Christmas items. That sale will be held July 10-13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
