Western Illinois Animal Rescue is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, August 24 starting at noon at the VFW in Monmouth.

The fundraiser will include a bags tournament and a fish and chicken fry following the tournament at four. The entry fee for the bags tournament is 20 dollars per team.

Jan Helms of WIAR has nothing but praise for the volunteers who help at the animal shelter.

“We have a wonderful group of volunteers that help us with everything that we do. From fundraising, to caring for the animals, to taking the dogs rides in their cars and giving them a treat.”
