United Red Storm Girls Basketball in Midst of Best Season Since 2010-2011

The United Red Storm girls basketball team is in the midst of their best season since winning 20 games in the 2010-2011 season. This year’s Red Storm team has already garnered eight wins just over the halfway point in the season.

The United girls basketball team kicked off their Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament last Thursday. United opened their pool play schedule with a 45-43 victory over Galva. The Red Storm came back late in the 3rd quarter and were able to hold the lead throughout the entirety of the game. United then followed up that win with 2 tough losses, falling to Knoxville 52-43 on Saturday, as well as to West Central 44-37 on Monday. Red Storm head coach Lisa Coleman is proud of the effort by her girls and thinks it will help with their confidence going into the second half of the season.

United will finish the tournament against ROWVA/Williamsfield on Saturday in the 7th place game. The Red Storm hope to get off to a fast start to the game, and take control early on.
