Harlan Scores 25 as Scots Beat Beloit on Saturday

The Monmouth College women’s basketball team used a big third quarter to blow out Beloit College 84-58 on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Scots have won two straight conference home games to start January and are now 7-7 overall, 3-2 in MWC play.

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: With 29 points in the third quarter, the Scots had the seventh-best quarter in school history. The record for points in a quarter is 32, done multiple times, including last season at Illinois College. Harlan’s previous career high in scoring was 24 points against Lake Forest on Nov. 29. The Scots are 15-5 against Beloit in the last 20 games played, 8-2 in the last 10 and 37-23 all-time. Monmouth has won the last six at home against Beloit, dating back to a loss on Feb, 13, 2016. The Scots are next in action at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Grinnell.
