Monmouth Rotary Club Opening Up Collection of Funds for International Project to the Local Community

Share

The Monmouth Rotary Club has joined forces with other clubs in their district to raise funds to provide assistance and shelter to families in Ukraine, Syria, and Turkey through the non-profit organization ShelterBox. Local Rotary Member Stan Jenks shares how the community can be involved:

“What we are doing is we are trying to act very quickly because the need is immediate and so we are trying to raise the funds that we can by March 6th. We will then put our funds with the funds coming from other district clubs and get that to ShelterBox. Individuals can contribute cash if they wish. They can write a check to ShelterBox. They can drop those contributions off at Security Savings Bank and then we will take those and forward those onto the ShelterBox program.”

Collected funds are being utilized to provide equipment totes containing tents, cooking sets, tools, blankets, solar lights, water filtration systems, and hygiene kits to families in need.

More about the program can be found here: https://www.shelterboxusa.org/.
