Derin Holmes transitioned from this life into eternity at the age of 41 on February 22, 2023.  Derin was born March 31, 1981 to parents Michael and Olivia Holmes.

Derin’s passion was to provide for his family.  Always searching for better opportunities, even later in life.  Derin graduated from EIU’s HVAC Technician Training Program in Phoenix, Arizona.  He was known for his infectious smile, sense of humor and his compassionate spirit.

He is survived by his parents; daughter Dereanna Holmes; siblings, Deron, Deon, Zaneta, David, Stefano, Stefena, Sherry, Michael Jr., Demetrius, and Octavious.

He leaves behind Grandmother Ruth Holmes and many aunts and uncles.  A multitude of cousins and more friends than can be counted.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg, Illinois.
