Glen D. Olson, age 76, of Biggsville, Illinois; passed away at 9:45 am at the Roseville Nursing and Rehab Center in Roseville, Illinois. Glen was born on April 20, 1946 in Chisholm, Minnesota and is the son of Dale and Lucy Kolodji Olson. At the age of 5, Glen and the family moved to Gladstone, Illinois where his father Dale, farmed for many years. Glen attended the Gladstone grade school and was in the first class graduating from Union High School with the class of 1964. He then attended classes at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa. After his schooling, Glen was drafted and served in the United State Army and was stationed in Germany. After his service Glen began work at the proving grounds of the J. I. Case Company in Burlington, Iowa for many years. Glen married Katherine F. Six on September 4, 1965 in Wayland, Missouri. She currently is surviving him. He later began an apprenticeship with Don Simmons and Gene Ray where over the next five years he earned his plumbers license. After that Glen was employed by Yorkwood High School doing Bus maintenance for a number of years. Lastly he was employed by Western Illinois University in Macomb doing generator maintenance to his retirement. Glen’s main interest in life were vintage cars and motor homes and he has owned a number of them.  Glen and Katherine are current members of Biggsville United Methodist Church in Biggsville, Illinois. He is survived by his wife Katherine Olson of Biggsville, Illinois and two sons, Travis Olson and Clifford of Peoria, Illinois and Shane Olson and Tina of Biggsville, Illinois. There are four Granddaughters, Brittany, Amber, Vanessa, and Adrianna, and one Grandson, Aaron. Three Great Granddaughters, Braelynn, Avalon, and Indie and three Great Grandsons, Jennings, Kolson, and Ike.  Also surviving are Glen’s brothers, Jerry Olson and Theda of Carman, Illinois; Bob Olson and Lora of Gladstone, IL; and Rick Olson and Jackie of Biggsville, IL. Glen is preceded in his death by his parents.  

A military presentation and graveside service is being planned on Saturday March 25, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Biggsville Township Cemetery in Biggsville. His family plans to be at the cemetery prior to the graveside at 10:30 am to meet with friends and family. A memorial fund is established for the Biggsville Ambulance Service or the Henderson County Home Health care. Arrangement for his care are with Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois.
