Mr. Larry D. Berg, 83, passed away at 1:52 pm, Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

Larry was born August 18, 1939, in Galesburg, the son of John A. H. and Evelyn (Nelson) Berg. He married Martha Cottom.

Larry is survived by his children, Michael Berg of Victoria, Illinois, Sherry (Gaylon) Edwards-Webb of Galesburg and Nicole (Craig) Brandenburg of Knoxville, Illinois; his soulmate of ten years, Sharon Lewis and his four grandsons, Bradley and Johnathan Edwards and Jake and Lucas Brandenburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Wilbur Berg, and his niece, Patricia Berg.

Larry graduated from ROVA High School in 1957 and served his country in the US Army. He worked as the Director of Data Processing for Carl Sandburg College for over thirty years.

Larry enjoyed riding his Harley and golfing with his buddies on Tuesday night golf league at Oak Run. He was known as a fair-weathered Chicago Cub fan. Larry was a talented woodworker, completing his final project of his own walnut casket. He had a great love for his family, especially his four grandsons. Larry was of the Lutheran faith.

Visitation is scheduled for 1:00-2:00 pm Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Chaplain Jordan Knight officiating. The burial will be in Oneida Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Online condolences maybe made at www.h-p-w.com
