Strom Center Director Carol McCrery Advises Medicaid Enrollees to Watch for Redetermination Letters

The Public Health Emergency Act of March of 2020 is coming to an end and those on Medicaid will need to reapply explains Strom Center Executive Director Carol McCrery:

“Assets weren’t really considered. The income level was raised so a lot of people were eligible for Medicaid that may not be eligible after April of this year. People will be given redetermination letters, so please do not ignore those. Some people are truly going to be eligible, still will be eligible, but some people unfortunately if they were in because of this act, they may not be eligible so we need to look at other options for them. If you are eligible for Medicaid, you are also eligible for what is called Low Income Subsidy, which allows you to get your medications many times free of charge or a very, very small amount.”

The Public Health Emergency Act will come to an end at the end of March.
