Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 12, 2023:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is Scholastic Bowl senior, Liam Baldwin. After a spectacular regular season, Liam was named to the Three Rivers Conference Scholastic Bowl All-Conference First Team. He led the entire conference with 91 toss-up answers correctly answered. Liam’s total was an amazing 25 more than the runner-up in the conference.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is girls senior track runner, Alycia Haun. Alycia got her track season off to a great start at the Lincoln Trail Conference Indoor Championship meet at Knox College. She was a part of the 4×200 and 4×400 winning relay teams. Alycia also ran to a 4th place finish in the 200 meter race.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is boys basketball players, seniors Mason Carnes and Kaiden Droste. Both young men were named to the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Conference Team. Mason was a First-Team selection and Kaiden was named to the Honorable Mention team. And not just on the court, both were earned LTC’ All-Academic team status, as well.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is track and field athletes, junior Carley Anderson and senior Treyson Hardges. Carley and Treyson both won the shot put event at the highly competetive Sterling First Chance Indoor Meet. Treyson won his event by well over 1 meter more than the runnerup. Both of Carley and Treyson’s throws give them an excellent chance to qualify for the Illinois Prep Top Times Meet.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is boys basketball players, juniors Kellen Hook and Carter Redfern. Both boys were named to the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Conference Team. Kellen was named to the first team, with Carter being a second team selection. Kellen also did great work in the classroom, as he was named to the LTC All-Academic Team as
