Stuff The Pantry Food Drive To Fill The Needs Of Families This Summer

Share

During the summer months, food banks are faced with their greatest need for donations. Today and tomorrow, May 18th and 19th, WRAM/WMOI will be joined by members of the community for the Stuff the Pantry food drive to fill the FISH Food Pantry. Loren Follmer, Event Coordinator said events like this are important for the community as we head into the summer break.

“A lot of families do depend on the school to provide extra meals or food. When school is not in session, there is less food at home,” said Follmer. “The Stuff the Pantry was kinda a whole mindset of getting the FISH Pantry stuffed with as much food we possibly can get them through that next month or two when the need is higher.”

The Stuff the Pantry food drive will be held in front of the Hy-Vee on Henderson St in Galesburg from 10 am to 2 pm.
