Monmouth-Roseville Baseball Garners Most Wins Since 2018

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan baseball team had their highest win total since the 2018 season this past spring. The season ended with a heart-breaking, late inning loss to an always tough Brimfield-Elmwood squad in the regional semifinals. Second-year Titan baseball coach Jordan Ball summed up the impressive season while a guest at our Halfway to Freezing for Food event.

One of those Monmouth-Roseville graduating seniors that Ball talked about, CJ Johnson, recently competed in the Illinois Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game at Horenberger Field on the Illinois Wesleyan University campus in Bloomington on Wednesday night. Johnson played in both games of the double header for the Blue Team. Johnson went 2-4 with an rbi at the plate between the two contests and pitched two innings, give up no runs and striking out three batters. Game one ended in a 4-4 tie and the red team claimed a 3-1 win in game two. Johnson will be taking his multi-sport talents to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He plans to play baseball and football for the Kohawks.
