Russell and Maxine Stewart To Be Inducted Into The 4-H Hall of Fame

Each year, Warren County 4-H nominates someone to be inducted into the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame. Shelby Carlson, Youth Development Educator at the University of Illinois Extension says they take suggestions for the nomination, and 4-H leaders and stakeholders decide.

“This year, we’ve got Russell and Maxine Stewart. They were selected because combined, they’ve had over 39 years of volunteer experience,” said Carlson. “So they were both lifelong for teachers who then decided it was so important to come back and be leaders.”

Growing up, Russell was a member of the Lenox club and was a leader of the same group for 22 years. Maxine was a member of the Kirkwood Lassies and volunteered with 4-H for 17 years.

Russel and Maxine will be recognized during the State Fair Hall of Fame Ceremony on August 12th.
