The Monmouth College women’s soccer team is off to a perfect start to the 2026 season.
The Fighting Scots have opened the year 3-0, picking up wins over Lakeland, Blackburn and most recently the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis.
Monmouth has outscored their opponents 10-3 through those three matches, and Sports Information Director Nathan Baliva says the start has already made some program history.
“They’re 3-0 for the first time in eight years, which is great. And Coach Lewis, who you talked to on the halftime show on Saturday, is our first women’s coach ever to start 3-0 as a first-year head coach. So off to a really good start for them. They’ll get tested here on Wednesday against Millikin and then be ready for conference play against a good Grinnell team who edged us out last year. Grinnell got fourth and we got fifth.”
That won’t be a problem this year, as the Midwest Conference postseason field has expanded to six teams. Monmouth will be at home for both Wednesday’s matchup with Millikin and Saturday’s conference opener against Grinnell.
