Richard Lee Hogan, 63, of Galesburg, Illinois, died Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at home.

Richard was born November 27, 1959 in Galesburg, the son of Ronald Lee and Laurel Joyce (Sorenson)Hogan. On October 29, 1979, Richard married Judy Anne Qualls in Galesburg.

Richard is survived by his wife, Judy of Galesburg, their three children, Cheryl Hogan, Teresa (Jorge) Barcenas-Garcia, and Richard. L. Hogan, Jr. all of Galesburg. Richard is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Joy (Mark) Tully of Galesburg; and his stepmother, Marsha Hogan of Avon, Illinois. Richard was preceded in death by his mother and his father.

For the majority of his life, Richard worked as a mechanic repairing anything with a motor. Recently, Richard had been working as a school bus driver for First Student. An avid outdoorsman, Richard enjoyed hunting and camping, riding four-wheelers and boating. He volunteered for the Galva Auxiliary Police Department for several years.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life for Richard will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
