Kay L. Kitch, 62, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 12:05 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL.

She was born on March 9, 1961 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Lewis and Patricia (Mettler) Heatherly.  Kay was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1979. 

Kay married James Zeilstra in Monmouth.  She later married Randy Kitch in Monmouth. 

Kay worked at several area businesses in Monmouth including Peoples-Do-It Center, Axline Pharmacy, and Circle K.  She enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel and the Food Network.  Most of all, Kay loved to spend time with her family. 

Surviving Kay is one son, Zachary Zeilstra of Burlington, IA; two sisters, Kathy (Phil) Smith of Monmouth, IL, Katie (Paul) Gagner of Moline, IL; step mother, Patricia Heatherly of Geneseo, IL; step brothers, Russ Mooney of Wisconsin, Mike (Linda) Mooney of Kewanee, IL; step sister, Pam (Lonnie) Nish of California; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kim L. Heatherly; and two nieces, Carrie & Emily Heatherly.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Warren County Memorial Park Mausoleum, Monmouth, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
