On Senior Day at Pattee Fields Monday afternoon, seniors played a part in every goal as the Monmouth-Roseville boys soccer team posted its second 3-0 victory of the season over Abingdon-Avon.

The Titans and Tornadoes met in Avon to kick off the season, and in the rematch, A-Town played a solid first half, keeping M-R off the scoreboard.

To start the second half, Angel Jurado found senior Ozzy Carmona open in the box, and after a nice move, he was brought down for a penalty kick. Senior Bawi Thang stepped up to take it, putting it in the back of the next for a 1-0 Titans lead just 2:06 into the half.

M-R doubled its lead at the 20:40 mark when Thang made a slick move along the end line and then cross the ball to Bruntsh Bolese, who knocked home a first-touch finish. Bolese also scored the game’s final goal with 3:51 to play, assisted by senior Jekzel Rivera.

Titan goalie Isaac Garcia extended his school record for career shutouts to 24, but did not have to make a save as M-R outshout A-Town 20-2.

Now 12-2-1 on the year, the Titans have another home game Tuesday against Riverdale.

In JV action, M-R extended its unbeaten streak to seven with a 3-0 victory. Ernesto Andrade, Derrek Martell and Yahir Serna scored goals, while Martell, Gybhanni Mendoza and Emmanuelle Lian had assists.
