Monmouth-Roseville and United Football Both Looking to Add Win Number Three This Week

Story by Kadin Rogers

The United Red Storm football team is back on the road tonight with a LincolnLand Small School Division against the Titans of Annawan/Wethersfield. Last week, United suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the ROWVA/Williamsfield co-op 38-18 to fall to (2-1) overall. With the win, ROWVA/Williamsfield is still undefeated at (3-0). Appearing on the WRAM Morning Show on Thursday, United head coach David Milroy says the biggest key to a Red Storm victory this week is winning the head-to-head battles on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

United’s battle vs. Annawan/Wethersfield will kickoff at Annawan High School at 7:00. Hear the game on AM 1330/FM 94.1 WRAM with the pregame show starting at 6:40.

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan football team is also on the road this week, heading north to Port Byron, Illinois to take on TRAC West Division opponent Riverdale. The Titans are coming off a dominating 42-14 victory over Erie-Prophetstown in week three, improving their record to (2-1) overall and (1-0) in the West Division. After not having a varsity season in 2022, Riverdale has yet to win a game and have been outscored 148-20 so far in three contests. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show on Friday morning, Titan head coach Jeremy Adolphson says that despite the rough start that Riverdale has had to the year, he wants his team to play with the same mind-set they’ve had in their victories the past two weeks.

The Titans and Rams will kickoff tonight from Riverdale High School at 7:00, with the Sunny 97.7 WMOI pregame show starting at 6:40. You can hear both games live online by clicking on the LISTEN LIVE button on the homepage or by downloading the free 1330 WRAM and 97.7 WMOI apps for your smartphone or tablet.
