Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 20th, 2026:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior girls golfer, Nevaeh Stokes. Nevaeh, a 3-time meet medalist already this season, is a Three Rivers Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference member after placing 7th at the conference championship meet at Valley View Golf Club. Earlier this season, she placed 15th out of 57 golfers at the United Open. Nevaeh was a sectional qualifier in her first season of high school golf last year and will try to duplicate that feat this fall.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is freshman girls cross country runner, Hayven Rundle. In just her first year of high school competition, Hayven has already proved she’s one of the strongest runners in the area. In just five meets, she’s earned two 1st places, a second place and a fourth place. Perhaps even more impressive was her most recent 6th place finish out of 94 runners at the highly competitive Dunlap Invite that included many bigger schools.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior boys golfer, Aiden Todd. Aiden is starting to peak as the postseason gets closer. He posted three strong finishes last week. Aiden was the meet medalist against A-Town at Twin Oaks, tied for 10th out of 32 golfers in a 4-team meet at Carthage Golf Club and tied for 2nd in a 4-team meet at Midland Golf Club.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior football player, Grady Hickey. Our first 2-time Athlete of the Week winner this year is a no-doubter. Grady played one of the best all-around games in our area in quite some time. On offense, he threw for 420 yards and five touchdowns, while running for another 71 yards and a score. He is now the single season touchdown pass record holder with 17 in just five games. While filling in on defense, Grady intercepted two passes.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Weston Schultz. While the offense has been getting plenty of attention in the Tornadoes (4-1) start to the season, Weston is putting up incredible defensive numbers. He led the team in tackles once again in his team’s win over United. Weston added to his team-leading tackle stat with 10, while also garnering 2 sacks and 3 tackles for loss.
