Katherine Louise Parrott, 59, of Macomb, Illinois, died at 2:06 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
She was born February 25, 1964 in Monmouth, the daughter of Roy Frederick and Helen Louise (Smock) Matthews and later raised by Raymond and Helen Boys. Kathy was reared and educated in Galesburg, graduating from high school in 1982. She worked as a city worker for the City of Macomb. Kathy married James D. Parrott in Macomb on November 17, 2012.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of ten years, James Parrott of Macomb; one daughter, Vannessa Napolitano of Urbana, Illinois; step-father, Raymond Boys of Galesburg; two brothers: James “Jim” Matthews and Ray Matthews, both of Galesburg; and her beloved dog, Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers.
When Kathy was younger, she was a Campfire Girl. One of her most enjoyable hobbies was searching for antiques, especially antique trunks. She liked doing puzzles and gardening. Kathy also enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales. She loved to have her early morning cup of coffee and would rarely go a day without it; it was one of her many comforts. Kathy had such an amazing kind heart and would do anything she possibly could to lend a helping hand. Anyone that knew her knew she was so gracious and kind and she will be missed deeply.
