The United Red Storm girls basketball team has been on a small break in action the past week, after a busy start to their season. After a (2-1) showing in the ROWVA/Williamsfield-Ridgewood Thanksgiving Tournament the Red Storm traveled to Erie-Prophetstown last Tuesday, dropping a close 34-31 contest to the Panthers. United, at one point trailed the host Panthers by 12 points in the second half before rallying to tie the game at 28. Senior-heavy Erie-Prophetstown made just enough plays down the final stretch to sneak out with a win.

Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, second year head coach Chris Olson says that the team responded well against the physicality that Erie-Prophetstown brought last week, stating as well that it is important that they play as many tough teams as they can in this early part of the season.

United will get back on the floor Tuesday night when they travel to Knoxville to take on the 1-4 Blue Bullets. The first home game for the Red Storm girls will be Saturday morning against Rockridge. For the full interview with Coach Olson, visit the Sports Podcast section.
