Monmouth Police Department’s Sergeant Brian Hall and Lieutenant Brandon Blackman Presented with Awards for Their Service

Sergeant Brian Hall and Lieutenant Brandon Blackman with the Monmouth Police Department were both recognized and presented awards during the Monmouth City Council meeting for their recent actions during a call, shares Communications Director Ken Helms:

“There was a high speed chase that originated from out of state and ended up terminating here on the bypass around Monmouth. It terminated with the suspect colliding with another vehicle and then the suspects vehicle actually caught on fire. During that, our officers were the first ones on the scene and Lieutenant Brandon Blackman pulled the suspect completely out of the vehicle while the car was on fire. Him and Sergeant Brian Hall did that. Lieutenant Blackman got the award for Ward for Valor out of it, which is actually the first one we believe that the police department has ever issued and Sergeant Hall received a Life Saving Award for it as well.”

Deputy Jack Baskett with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department was also presented with an award for his actions during the service call.
