Rosemary M. Pullen, age 75, of Monmouth, passed away at 3:00 am on January 14, 2024 at Liberty Village in Peoria, Illinois. Rosemary was born on February 15, 1948 in Biggsville, Illinois and is the daughter of Neil and Gladys Smith McVey. Rosemary was raised on the farm in Biggsville where she attended local schools and graduated from Biggsville High School in the class of 1966. She then attended and graduated from the Western Illinois Teachers College with her certification in 1970. Rosemary married Carol F. “CP” Pullen on August 12, 1979 in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2019. Rosemary began teaching with Monmouth High School and taught her entire career until her retirement in 2003. She is a member and has donated to the Warren County Retired Teacher’s Association for many years, She has been most good at donating to many various organizations, both local and elsewhere. Rosemary enjoyed playing bingo, slot machines, and most loved all her grandchildren.  

She is survived by her son, Philip Pullen and Tiffany of Peoria, Illinois and step-son Gary Pullen and Denise of Monmouth, Illinois. Her step daughter Michelle Pullen also is surviving. There are five grandchildren. One brother, Howard McVey and Cecilia of Kirkwood, Illinois is also surviving. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, sister, Beverly, and her nephews Pieter. 

A funeral service for Rosemary is planned for 10:30 am on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Her family plans visitation and will receive their friends at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment will follow the funeral service at Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Illinois. A memorial fund is being established for the Monmouth-Roseville Educational Fund.
