William “Bill” E. Inman

William “Bill” E. Inman, 61, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 8:35 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. 

He was born on March 1, 1963 in Monmouth, IL, the first-born son to Robert and Ruby (Taylor) Inman.  Bill was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1981. 

After High School Bill dedicated the next 20 years of his life to serving in the United States Navy.  Throughout his career, he served on the USS Independence, which his father served on before him.  Bill loved Bald Eagles for the patriotism they represented and often collected statues and figurines.   

Bill married his high school sweetheart, Daneil Ann Robertson on January 22, 1983 in Monmouth; she survives.

When Bill wasn’t spending time with his family, he enjoyed bowling, riding his motorcycle, visiting zoos, and watching John Wayne movies.  Bill will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.  Those he loved will fondly remember him as always filling the room with laughter, his playful spirit, and his dedication to knowing he was the best looking of his brothers. 

Surviving Bill is his wife, Deneil A. Inman of Monmouth, IL; his children, Rebeckah (Jonathon)Inman, Bobby Inman, Karissa (Courtney) Inman, Will Inman; four grandchildren; and one brother, Lee (Roxanne) Inman.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert E. Inman; and his granddaughter, Skylar Kristine Inman. 

A Celebration of Bill’s Life with Military Honors will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bill Inman Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
