Illinois Commerce Commission Again Reviewing Utility Company Proposals

Share

The Illinois Commerce Commission is once again reviewing spending proposals from the state’s two major electric utility companies. The panel rejected multiyear plans from Commonwealth Edison and Ameren Illinois last year that propose billions of dollars to be spent to support the state’s new climate goals. The Climate and Equitable Jobs Act will phase out greenhouse emissions from energy and transportation industries over the next 20 years. The utility companies’ new proposals would reportedly decrease costs for spending and infrastructure.
