Rosalie D. Kempster, 83 of Galesburg, died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024, at home.

She was born Thursday, June 6, 1940, in Cooperstown, Illinois, the daughter of Chester and Lenora Faith (Billingsley) Hendricks. She was married to Kenneth R. Kempster.

She is survived by a son, Lawrence R. McCombs; daughters, Christine Denisar and Rebecca McCombs; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Albert Hendricks; and sisters, Dorothy Davis and Frances Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny; parents, Chester and Faith; daughter, Karen J. McCombs; grandson, Marshall R.D. Denisar; brother, Allen Hendicks; and sister, Shirley Morrell.

Rosalie was a farmer and restaurant owner all of her adult life. She was known for her master pie baking skills. Additionally, Rosalie was an accomplished gardener and she enjoyed riding her bicycle.

Private family graveside service will be Friday, March 8, 2024, in West Midway Cemetery in London Mills. Pastor Tom Wright will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Gordon Behrents Senior Center or VNA Community Service. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.
