The Downtown Community Partnership of Galesburg is thrilled to announce the inaugural Off to the Races! 5K/1M, set to take place on April 27th, 2024 in the heart of Downtown Galesburg. This Kentucky-Derby themed event promises a morning filled with friendly competition, camaraderie, and a celebration for participants of all ages and abilities.

Off to the Races! 5K/1M, will kick start promptly at 9:30am on Saturday, April 27th, at The Vault at Reserve Artisan Ales, located at 185 S. Kellogg Street, in Downtown Galesburg. Registration is currently open online, for $15, $25, or $35 depending on options chosen, but you may also register in-person, day-of, starting at 8:00am. For those who sign up ahead of time, packet pickup will be from 4-7:00pm in the lobby of The Vault at Reserve Artisan Ales on Friday, April 26th

Routes vary, with the 5K winding through downtown Galesburg, with only slight elevation along some stretches, around historic buildings, and with guides at every turn. The 1-mile run still offers the sites of downtown, but with fewer turns and elevation, making it suitable for families and walkers. Off to the Races! 5K/1M does allow well-behaved pets on leashes as well as kids in strollers, so the entire family can join in the race!

Registration for this event is now open! Participants can choose from three sign-up options, which can include a commemorative race t-shirt, finisher medal, swag bag, and a chance to win awards. Runners and walkers alike will enjoy the post-race party and items offered up by our generous sponsors – Templeton Roofing, The Strength Collective, The Downtown Escape, and several more.

Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, the Off to the Races! 5K/1M promises friendly competition and the spirit of the Kentucky Derby!
