Rose M. Scott, 92, of Monmouth, IL passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL.

Rose was born on January 13, 1932 in Monmouth, the daughter of Oscar Ludwig Sr. and Alma Catherine (Knuth) Johnson.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, attending Monmouth Schools.

Rose married James Melvin Scott on March 24, 1955 in Monmouth, IL.

Rose was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was and animal lover, especially cats and birds.

Survivors include her daughter, Victoria (Anthony) Hahn of Woodhull, IL; her son, James (Cindi) Scott of Martinsville, IN; her grandson, Tulsa Lane (Samantha) Talley of Galesburg; her sister, Marjorie Kinney of Monmouth; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 9 siblings, Mary L. Miller, Roy L. Johnson, Sr, Ellen D. Jones, Oscar L. Johnson, Jr., Wilber R. Johnson, Josephine Johnson, Margaret A. Johnson, Patricia A. Leath, and Frank A. Johnson.

A private family interment service will be held at Monmouth Cemetery.  Memorials may be given the Rose Scott Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
