Share

With several local sporting events at United High School cancelled due to weather over the spring sports season, it was an especially busy past week for United athletics. As Red Storm spring sports teams look to squeeze in regular season contests, this week saw several back to back games for softball and baseball. The Red Storm softball team started the week with a home doubleheader against Annawan/Wethersfield on Monday, then hosted Knoxville for a contest on Tuesday. The ladies are not quite done with their busy week however, as they have a road rematch with the Blue Bullets penned for tonight, then a doubleheader against Ridgewood scheduled for Saturday. As for the Red Storm baseball team, they have also played in two games this week, taking a win over Kewanee on Tuesday then a loss to undefeated LVC yesterday. The boys are scheduled to finish this week on Saturday, with a home doubleheader against Mercer County. In addition to baseball and softball, United will also be busy today with hosting the Red Storm track and field invite tonight. For more about tonight’s Red Storm Invitational, here is United High School Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp.

Tonight’s Red Storm track and field invite will also be senior night for United’s track athletes. For the full interview with United Athletic Director Jeremy Sharp, visit the Sports Podcast section of our website, radiomonmouth.com.
