Greyling was born August 15, 1961, in Galesburg, the son of Donald R. and Barbara J. (Kane) Sargeant. He married Sherry Morrisey on June 10, 1994, in Galesburg. They later divorced but have remained close friends.

Greyling is survived by his daughter, Kyleigh (fiancé Thomas Elder) Sargeant of Panama City, Florida; a granddaughter, Letti Elder; his ex-wife and mother of his child, Sherry Cook of Galesburg; his brother, Brett (Barbara) Sargeant of East Galesburg; his sister, Angelique “Angie” (John) Wyman of Gilson and several, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Terri, and her husband Jim Wyman.

Greyling graduated from Knoxville High School in 1980 and began working for Burger King. He most recently worked for Super Pantry, now Circle K, for many years. Greyling was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed bowling and had participated in several leagues including the Galesburg Twilight League and the Vanguard League. Greyling also loved playing softball and riding his motorcycle. But most of all he enjoyed spending his summertime in Florida at Kyleigh’s spending time with his granddaughter, Letti.

A Visitation is scheduled for 1:00-3:00 pm Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Greyling’s family would welcome his friends and family to wear either Chicago Cubs or Chicago Bears attire. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
