With the end of the school year, a new group of officers has been elected to lead the United FFA chapter for the 2024-25 year. While each officer ran for different reasons, one goal they each share is increasing involvement in FFA. Newly elected chapter sentinel, Parker Scott shares an idea the team has discussed to encourage attendance.

“We’ve discussed certain things like having pins to get people to want to go to different [events], says Scott. “You get pins for going so you can show off your pins.”

Chapter president Hannah Thompson adds that she hopes to show younger students not involved in agriculture, and the value of participating in FFA.

“We’ve also just made it a more fun environment and we do a lot of fun things as a chapter, not just competitions,” says Thompson. “That way we can have people enjoy going even if they aren’t necessarily good at the different CDEs.”

The 2024-25 United FFA officer team includes Hannah Thompson, president; Meredith Yung, vice president, Leighton Trego, secretary; Nevaeh Bickerton, reporter; Aiden Martin, treasurer; Parker Scott, sentinel; Rose Leary, historian; and Jack Allgeyer, plot chair.
