Patty A. Fritz, 91, of Galesburg, died at 7:46 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, in Seminary Manor.

She was born December 21, 1932, in Macomb, the daughter of Egbert and Hazel (Griffith) Clark. She married Wesley B. Fritz on June 29, 1952, in Galesburg.

She is survived by two sons, Gregory (Deborah) Fritz of Galesburg and Timothy (Lynn) Fritz of Lynn Center; a daughter, Lisa Gibson of Moline; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Woodard, Kyle (Casey Woolwine) Fritz, Justine Ince, Travis Fritz, Alexandria Gibson, and Kacey (Travis Turnmire) Fritz; three step-grandchildren, Kaylee (Tommy Simpson) Woodard, Delaney Woodard, and Brianna Woodard; six great grandchildren, Andrew Kennedy, Isabelle Kennedy, Brody Lanum, Beckett Ince, Jaxon Woodard, and Kolton Turnmire; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Peggy Huff, her identical twin, Betty Lou Holt, and Edward Clark.

Patty was a dental assistant from 1973 until 1999. She worked for Dr. C. Fifield, Dr. J.M. Sellett, Dr. R. Westergren, and Dr. John Bicego. She then worked as an optician for Dr. Irene Caruso for 2 years, before retiring. She graduated from Galesburg High School. Patty had been an active member of the Rio Presbyterian Church. After moving to Galesburg, she joined First United Methodist Church, where she was active in Bible study and choir.

In her spare time, Patty enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, and crafting. In a handwritten note, Patty expressed how her family and church were the most important things in her life.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Galesburg. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Hospice Compassus.
