The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau® Foundation is proud to announce this year’s scholarship recipients. Due to the generosity of the Twomey Family Foundation, memorials in honor of loved ones, support from our members and area businesses, and fundraising efforts, the Foundation can assist nineteen applicants this year in furthering their education in agriculture. Each of this year’s recipients will receive a total of $1,300 for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Foundation started awarding scholarships in 1994 and since that time has awarded 412 scholarships and almost $350,000 to students continuing their education in an agricultural field of study.

Meet one of this year’s recipients: Reece Bertelsen

Reece Bertelsen

Reece Bertelsen graduated from United High School in the spring and plans to attend the University of Illinois to major in Animal Science. While in high school, some of the activities that Reece was involved in were volleyball, track, Bi-County Youth Coalition, as well as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader. Reece was also a part of the 2024 State Champion 4×200 relay team from United. The relay team now holds the new state record as well. In her free time, Reece likes to lift weights, work out, walk dogs, spend time with family and friends, volunteer, and spend time outdoors. In the future, she hopes to become a small animal veterinarian. Reece is the daughter of Shane and Patricia Bertelsen of Monmouth.
