Joseph L. Miller, 65, of Roseville, Illinois, passed away at 1:11 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2024 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. Joe was born March 2, 1959 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Samuel and Judy (Tessier) Miller. He was raised and educated in the Avon/Abingdon School Districts.

After high school, Joe joined the United States Army and was enlisted from 1977-1983.

Those left to cherish his memory are; his mother, Judy; his significant other, Donna Frakes of Roseville; children, Joe (Tiffani) Miller of Hayes Center, Nebraska, Josh Miller of Colchester, Illinois, Dustin (Jennifer) Frakes of Avon, Illinois, Justin (Tiffany) Frakes of Abingdon, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; siblings, Curtis Miller of Wataga, Illinois, Marjorie Taflinger of Avon, Glenn (Chrisa) Anderson of Little Swan Lake and honorary brother, Dennis (Cathy) Ruff of Avon. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father Samuel and stepfather Glenn Anderson, Sr.

Joe spent many years farming with Ruff Farms in Avon and was later an over the road trucker for Schisler Trucking, CFI, and JL Miller & Sons. He worked for Gates Rubber Co. in Galesburg for several years and he was the Swan Township Road Commissioner for many years. He was most recently employed with IDOT. He had many other side jobs and hobbies he enjoyed. He loved going to dog seminars and meeting other dog friends. He was an excellent amateur architect and building designer. He enjoyed traveling and was excellent at giving everyone else directions. He donated to several local charities including Jamieson Center and other food pantries. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, at the funeral home. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be in the Roseville Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Woof For Vets or the Wounded Warrior Project.
