A New School Year, Another Budget to Approve

Share

As another school year begins, the budget is always on the docket and that is exactly what the West Central Board of Education discussed at their latest meeting, shares Superintendent Stacey Day:

“All school districts are really in the same boat, the ESSR Funding is gone that we have had for the last three to four years and so we are seeing some changes there in terms of revenue. Just like everything, expenses on all areas are going up. Our budget it typically about $13 million a year, it fluctuates a little bit, so we did a tentative budget presentation and then we will do a final one and public hearing on September 24th. West Central has done a great job with some really healthy fund balances and that has allowed us to be able to do some things that we needed to do. We have had some big projects over the last couple of years. We just finished this summer our HVAC project, so now all of our buildings are fully air conditioned.”

Superintendent Day reports West Central has around 760 students enrolled for the 2024-2025 year.
