The Knights of Columbus will be out across Monmouth this weekend, collecting donations during their annual Tootsie Roll Drive. According to Teri Parks, Warren County YMCA Special Needs Athletic Program Director, proceeds raised stay local:
“We have the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive happening this weekend. Some locations in town start at 6 am, some start at 7 am, and some start at 8 am. We have lots of places, mainly our grocery stores and gas stations are good places that we hand out tootsie rolls and collect money. The Warren County YMCA Special Needs Athletic Program get 50 percent of what is raised and Warren Achievement Center gets the other 50 percent.”
The Warren County YMCA Special Needs Athletic Program provides year-round sports training and competition for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
