The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau® Foundation is proud to announce this year’s scholarship recipients. Due to the generosity of the Twomey Family Foundation, memorials in honor of loved ones, support from our members and area businesses, and fundraising efforts, the Foundation can assist nineteen applicants this year in furthering their education in agriculture. Each of this year’s recipients will receive a total of $1,300 for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Foundation started awarding scholarships in 1994 and since that time has awarded 412 scholarships and almost $350,000 to students continuing their education in an agricultural field of study.
Meet one of this year’s recipients: Aubrey Killey
Aubrey Killey graduated from Monmouth-Roseville High School in the spring and plans to attend Lakeland Community College in Mattoon to major in Ag Communications with a minor in Animal Nutrition. While in high school, Aubrey was involved in the National Honor Society, Hall of Fame, adaptive PE Tutor, FFA, Cheerleading, Volleyball, and student council. In her spare time, she enjoys showing livestock, livestock judging, baking with her grandma for the fair, and hanging out with friends and family while being outdoors. Future plans for Aubrey include being a part of the Lakeland livestock judging team and after college hopes to return to the area to help young people with their livestock projects and help her father on their 7th-generation family farm with pigs, chickens, and crops. Aubrey is the daughter of Kevin and DeNeene Killey of Berwick.
